OUR VISION

To lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, by providing settings where people are encouraged and equipped to pursue closeness to God, community with Christians, and influence with outsiders.

As part of the New Wineskins Presbytery of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC), the beliefs and ministry vision of River Church South align with that of our denomination. We invite those interested in our system of beliefs to look through the extensive information available on the EPC website. Please visit the denomination’s Beliefs page.

Through the link provided above, you’ll find a brief history of the EPC, answers to frequently asked questions, the “Essentials of Our Faith,” links to the Westminster Standards, and a host of position papers on subjects of great theological, social and cultural interest.

We’re also thankful for the wise counsel and the example of others who continue to minister faithfully in their communities through purposeful and innovative means. Those who’ve helped shape our ministry efforts include River Community, our parent church, and a flagship church within our denomination, Hope Presbyterian Church of Cordova, Tennessee.

To one church, in particular, we owe a particular debt of gratitude. In our initial years of ministry we continue to draw helpful direction and assistance from the respected work of Pastor Andy Stanley and his ministry teams at North Point Community Church. In our adapted vision statement and ministry philosophy, their influence is clear.
