Sunday school and nursery 10:30-11:30 a.m.

Vacation Bible School – (June 10-12)

All children from kindergarten age to fifth grade are invited to attend Vacation Bible School from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, June 10-11-12, at River Community South, an Evangelical Presbyterian church in the Pelican Point area. Admission is free, doors open at 9:00am and all may attend regardless of where they go to church, but registration is required. Youth minister Jeff Beck and Judy McIntyre, a former Ascension Parish Teacher of the Year, will lead the Bible School in the Old Schoolhouse Building behind The Cabin Restaurant on Highway 44 at Highway 22 in Burnside. Children will learn about different Bible heroes and how they did great things. And how God can use them to accomplish great things as well. There will be games, crafts, music, refreshments and fun.

Nursery – (Infants through pre-K)

The nursery is in a separate building which is rustic on the outside and very new on the inside.  Parents using the nursery are asked to bring infants to the church service initially when they arrive.  Registration is at the rear of the worship area.  At least two nursery volunteers are always on duty in the nursery building.

Sunday School – (Grades K-5)

The mission of RCS Children’s Ministry is to lead children into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Research tells us that the main desire of a parent’s heart is for their children to be happy, and we believe that the only road to happiness is one that children learn to travel with their hand placed securely in Jesus’ hand.  RCCS Children’s Ministry seeks to provide children with a road map, a compass, and a knowledge of the guidebook, the Bible, for living as God’s child.  Our focus will be to help children discover how they can develop servant hearts and experience the joy of serving others.

Because all of God’s children are unique, children’s lessons will be based on the latest discoveries about how we learn.  Children will have the opportunity to learn through dramatic play, art activities, music, technology, video, and even through cooking!  All lessons will be Bible based. Children’s church will be planned around a variety of hands-on activities, and it will be fun…and that is guaranteed! 

Every member of River Church South is committed to using their gifts and talents to help children learn how much their Heavenly Father loves them.  Come join us! 

Please do not feel like children have to dress up to come to River Community South.  Since we will be painting and playing, it might be better if the children did not dress up!
