The spiritual nurture of the youth in any community is an essential part of a growing church’s ministry efforts. That significant challenge invites a commitment to families in general, a pledge we take seriously and to which we are blessed to respond.
The varied needs of adolescents invite a variety of responses. And so, it is important that we provide a full slate of opportunities to connect—in regular weekly and monthly meetings, through seasonal special events, and in annual programs coordinated with other churches and ministry agencies.
Sunday School
Middle School and High School youth meet midway through
the Sunday morning worship service for a dedicated time of prayer, Bible
study and discussion.
Weekly Meetings
Young people regularly gather for study, recreational
activities, music, prayer and conversation, almost always in homes and
most often in the evening.
Small Group Studies
In addition to social gatherings, the church’s
teens study the Scriptures and topical themes in small groups led by
youth staff.
Special Events
River South youth take advantage of life in a truly
unique region of the country. Limitless fellowship opportunities are
available—sporting events, concerts, game days, canoe trips,
lock-ins, and more.
Annual Summer Camp
Partnering with other youth groups in the region, our
teens take part in nationally-recognized summer camp programs,
“Great Escape” and “Fun in the Sun.”
Understanding the busy schedules so many teenagers experience, Jeff also takes time to connect with young people in their schools, during their extracurricular activities, and through the many means of electronic communication open to him today.
